Comments:

The Cardinal was originally designed as a replacement for the successful Cessna 172 Skyhawk series. Major changes were made to the 1968 Cardnal model over the first 3 years of it's production including bigger engine and general improved controls. This 1972 model will also have the improved airframe, constant speed prop and some stabilator changes that gives the AC better take-off and climb performance. Compared to the 172 in general the Cardinal is more comfortable, with a bigger cabin and better visibility and sports a very sleek looking outer design. The Cardinal cruises faster than the 172 at about 142 mph and can seat 4 adults comfortably, plus 120-150 lbs of bagage. If looking for an upgrade from your 172 for another reliable and safe Cessna, this plane is definitely a good option. This Cardinal in particular is fully IFR as well.
